Hey guys...like some of you may know I do run a universities fish lab.

We are still shopping around for an Arapaima...havent found a person who we like to deal with that also has reasonable prices.

I am not interested in paying $250 + to get a 4-6" individual shipped. That is robbery.

That being said...we were really hoping to get our first individual in this summer. So if anyone has any leads, it would be appreciated.

Thanks, Forrest

I'll call my local LFS to see if they can get one since they seem to be able to get some weird stuff for decent prices. I'll give you a heads up if they can get one at a good price, and I can handle the shipping part if they can get one.

Thanks Wiggles, let me know what you turn up.

This would be a great time for any vendors to speak up on their merchandise.

Thanks, Forrest

There have been a few offered in the past few days - I assume you've followed up on those?
$250 shipped is very good, compared to what I've seen in the past, and recently. I know we all like them cheap, but if you're getting close to your "deadline" then maybe a few extra dollars well-spent are what it will take. Just my 2 cents.

Only seen one in the marketplace...was $300 - fine with that....but no shipping. Sent the guy a message anyways cause I have someone in the area. I will check now.

I have been offered paima before in the range of $40-70 in the past. Should have jumped on that while I had the chance.

Shark Aquarium has three 6" ones listed on their website for $150 per fish.

I'm still waiting on the LFS to get back to me; hopefully they can get one for a good price.

Okay, FLESHY, I know that I already let you know what the LFS told me, but I'll post it here in case anyone else wanted to know: They can get 9-10" arapaima for $250.
