The problem with using NLS, in addition to the stink, not all fish will want it, pellets float more than they sink and when they do sink uneaten pellets turn sand brown, high end pricey, etc. If you have a variety of fish, you'll need to buy many different sizes because no one size fits all fish. That will be expensive, tiny pellets for smaller fish, medium pellets for larger fish and big pellets for king kong fish. More cost effective to use the other brands that are just as good.
to echo a few other posters go with New life Spectrum in bulk. I bought two of the 5 lb buckets over a year ago and I'm just to the bottom of the first one. (2 oscars, 2 jack dempsies) Next I strongly encourage 4 day a week feeding for adult oscars. Their metabolism slows down once they hit full maturity and they don't need food as often. Dropping the feedings down has shown a marked improvement in both water quality and fish health.
For the plecos I'd stop buying them ready to drop food and get them a few food clips. Then just buy some zuchini and other veggies and make sure the tank has plenty of driftwood. I find my 2 18-20" commons and 1 9" spotted hi-fin and cheapest and easiest monster fish I've ever had feeding wise.

My personal experince with the veggie clip, is that the other tankmates will eat it before my pleco will. Anything the pleco will eat, so will my oscars and turtles. The only thing they won't eat is the wafers. My old pleco fought off the tankmates from his lettice. This one runs away. Pansey... I greatly dislike sinking pellets for my oscars. All they do is make a mess. I have gravel, so the missed food is a serious issue for me. Bare tank, i'd guess sinking pellets would be easier, and for some reason hikari sinking pellets are cheaper

NLS does not stink, especially compared to something like massivore. Why would you have uneaten pellets in your tank? That's overfeeding. I feed all my fish from 4-14" the 2mm pellet and they all eat it happily. $11 a pound is not a lot of money, especially considering your fish will need less food with a pellet with higher nutrient content (and produce less waste). With other brands you're paying for a lot of STARCH, save your money altogether and go to Costco and buy some corn flakes. Also, please point me in the direction of a food brand that's "just as good" as NLS?
Use a variety of food...Krill, mealworms, popcorn shrimp..............The staple should be a brand pellet.........HIKARI....
