I am buying a filter and the seller is willing to throw in a 3200 gph submersible Jebo pump for pretty cheap ($ 50). Are they worth at least $ 50 ? I thought about using it a closed loop pump to add circulation to the 600 gallon tank.

I'd rather spend more money or a well known pump if this turns out to be a total junk.

All input are appreciate it

Also wondering this...

I don't mean to de-rail, but could these be used as a return pump for a sump?

How do you use a submersible in a closed loop?

What?.....What?
Closed loop is when the pump suction is pulling water from the tank and the pump effluient is directly back into the tank. Sumps are not closed loop.

Like this, with black PVC and maybe a few strategically drilled
holes to disperse the flow, it does a great job to add
more turnover to my 10' tank.

A lot of people use submersibles as powerheads for circulation if you don't mind the sight of it in your tank.

So It can't be used as a return pump?

Of coarse it can.

Tank---->Pump (outside of tank)---->Tank = Closed Loop (no break in the line)

Tank---->Sump---->Pump (submerged)---->Tank = Not Closed Loop (break between the tank and sump)

Doesn't matter, I think Stan was proposing to use it as a powerhead.
