are archer fish more hardy then cichla?

Ok for some reason. I cant get cichla to make it past the 9 or 10 inch mark. there fine one day. Then i come home next day and they be dead. I love the look of cichla but cant seem to keep them alive. Tanks got two ehiem pro 2 filters and a jebao knock off ehiem pro 2. two internal powerheads with sponges. Fish was looking great last night colors were bright and bold. Came home today its dead.
My salvinis polleni. and jurense catfish and plecos are fine and healthy swiming. Are archer fish any more hardy then the cichla?

Archer fish are brackish and would not work with your current stock. I'm moving this to the cichla section for discussion since the brackish area gets little traffic and this thread belongs in either.
 
I think archer are i had a couple a years ago knida b4 i was real into fish in not the nicest tank an they lived good i didnt take care of them ood an they were fine
 
its not that i dont take care of me fish waterchanges twice a week. two ehiems and a knockoff. water crystal clear. Adn when power went out form huricane i had a generator powering all the filters so they should have been fine. just cant figure it out.
 
Maybe lizard sh#$t is not good for pbass. I'm thinking sudden death has to be something that dropped into the water.
 
but why wouldnt it have killed any of the other fish?
 
Cichla got to it the st**t first? Cichlas are not as hardy as some think. Especially broko. Try it without cichla for awhile and see.
 
nah tanks fresh. When i got it originaly everyone was saying i should do archer fish so i was considering it. But i aint into salt or brackish. the cichla that died today been in there for atleast 4 months maybe more. just puzzled.
 
to the point where im thinking bluegills. turtle or two and the lizard!
