What can I mix with gouramis?

Hey guys. Im starting to pick up interest in gouramis and am wondering what community fish I could mix with them? I have heard if you have a gourami, u should only mix it with gouramis? Thanks

my wifes tank has blue and gold gouramis along with a couple multi cats,elephant nose ( grow out ),a pleco,butterfly fish and a african knife.all get along great except now and then a gourami will chase the knife.

Corys also get along great with gouramis.

I've kept angels with them and it looked really nice, specially if you have dwarf gouramis in there too

AH man this monster fish keepers, do not go back to small gouramis......................The only gourami here, is the GIANT GouRAMI that can grow to almost two foot in length...........The gold and blue gouramis you see flirting with each other in cramped tanks are meant for the Dentist' office..........

I have a honey dwarf gourami and it gets along with everything in my 30gal no problem, platies, mollys, a female beta, a bumble bee catfish, and one lone neon tetra who had a buddy that got eaten by the catfish. The tetras are from my old step dads 5gall that I got handed and couldn't set up when he left and there were only 2 tetras with the beta. I do plan on buying 4 more tetras as soon as I can but money is a limiting factor when you have no cash flow.
