Im not sure just how familiar you are with gt's I have grown out more than I can count and have two breeding pairs.. Most juvenile gt's will start of like this and will slowly bulk up... Females at this size will be round and will not have this.. alos he has not been eating to well he is too interested in courting the larger female...

Hmmm. Yes, your old, larger ones in those pics do look the same.

Maybe there are different strains (or even species) around in the hobby. Me being in the UK, maybe we tend to see GT's from slightly different genetic sources to yours. The majority of what I know as a GT (Gold saum) that I have seen in the flesh are rather a different shape. Yes, even the males. Much less tapered from along the back from head to tail in bodyshape.
