Hey whats up guys. I have been feeding my 8 inch midas hikari gold as a stable along with omega one shrimp pellets daily, and omega one veggie pellets a couple times a week. I ordered some hikari bio gold to try it out and c what all the fuss is about. I got it in the mail four days ago and brutes the midas wont eat it. Just seems weird to me sence he eats hikari gold as a staple. And he eats any thing i throw in there literaully but grabs the bio gold for a secound and spits it back out. He hasnt ait for four days and still wont eat it. Oviously i know he wont die and he will eat it eventual. Just curious if any one else has had there fish not interested in it two. Kinda funny to me that it is the best food i have put in his tank and it is the only thing he wont eat. Thanks in advance for your comments. And sorry if this has been covered havent been in here for a bit

I have had similar experiences feeding my fish various hikari pellet types. Some they love right away, some it takes a little longer. I look at my fish like little kids, give em something new and they will hate it out of instinct, eventually they will learn to love it :)

Like the comparison thats funny. What i think is weird is i feed him every day hikari gold and he gulps it down. But wont touch the bio gold.

I the initial shock of a different taste is what makes them spit it out, its like they don't know whether or not they like it or not, and because it's different than normal they just spit it out. They definitely will eat it once they forget about the taste of the sinking gold.

All my fish love Bio-gold.I think fish like humans get used eating certain things and often turn their nose up to new foods. All I feed my fish is NLS and Bio-Gold so they are very use to it.

first of thanks for the replies. And ya i know he will eat it soon or, or latter because he isnt getting any thing else untill he does im not scarred to starve my fish to get them to eat what i want i have done it plenty of times in the past. if i diddnt feed him hikari gold allready it wouldnt even be weird to me. I just have a hard time believing that there is a huge taste difference they are both floating type the same size, and same color and both hikari any ways just curious if any one that feeds hikari gold to there fish have had any refuse hikari bio gold

I've never tried NLS, I'm curious to get some and see what everyone's talking about. I think that's prolly one of the few foods I haven't tried yet lol

I havent tried that yet either reason for that being is now where around me sells any of those products. And another reason i havent ordered any is because i only can find 1mm nls pellets online. After i test the results of the bio gold for a couple months if it doesnt give me the results i am looking for i am going to order some nls to try for a staple, and ching mix for some of my other fish and test both of those products. those two products and the bio gold are about the only things i havent fed to my fish over the years. besides all of the crazy flower horn products

My EBJD were eating Gold + fine for awhile and I gave them krill as a treat once and now they don't eat the pellets like before... I've tried NLS Large Formula too and they just spit that out. Maybe some fish are just picky about things and others aren't.

I feel you on picky fish. But the point of the matter is this fish chows any thing that is thrown in the tank never have had a problem feeding him any thing. Just cant imaginge bio gold taste that much different then the regular hikari gold. either way doesnt matter he will starve untill he eats it because now i have a 2.2 bag of it that wasnt cheap. I am just curious if any one that feeds hikari gold swithced to bio gold with the fish not eating it.
