I've got a 5ft sump under the tank with 2 external pumps and auto water top off that. My auto top off puts in approx. 75gal of fresh cold is filtered into the tank every 24 hours. My sump has a 1" bulkhead near the top that runs into my drain in the basement so the sump never overflows.....so the only thing I do on a bi weekly and or weekly basis is change the filter floss and wipe the inside of my glass. Last week I cleaned my sump for the first time in 1 1/2 years....so all in all I get to enjoy my fish without the maintenance.
