HUGE pleco at LFS...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
IMO, I wouldn't put 50 Danio's in a 55, unless they are the smaller of the varieties. The Giant Danios would be too big for the tank in a group that large.

I don't see why you can't have 50 all at once..

Maybe you could have them order you 50?

LOL.

Plecos weren't their, so they went to a new home.

To clear any confusion up, the danios are not being fed to plecos, or the danios are not going to eat the plecos.
Only on MFk can people come up with that....lol ( hey, but I love it!!!)

I was going to add around 10 zebra danios per week until I get the amount of danios I feel the works for the tank. ( no more than 50 though...)

The tank will be planted, but not to the point where it looks like a jungle. ( thinking italian vals, dwarf sag., some amazons, and possibly a few crypts.)
Any suggestions on plants?

I wouldn't be purchasing any fish, or plants until a few weeks anyways. ( waiting on the tank to finish cycling...)

I dont' think there was much confusion past the first couple posts where bboetko couldn't see part of the post... But on a different note, zebra danios for .50 a piece? I might have to make a trip to the beach before long, is this a regular thing for them?

For the past few months, the asking price has been .49 each. ( I believe it has always been that price, but I am not sure... )

Sometimes they have a .88 sale on select tropical fish. (Platies, mollies, and swordtails) This sale typically happens a few weeks after Christmas.

The pet store doesn't classify the danios as feeders, but you see alot of people go in the store and request them instead of the feeder guppies. When I went to the store to check them out, the danios were pretty large already. ( most of them were around 2"-2.25"+ in size). They hardly ever get them in at that size. ( normally they are around 1")

They also carry feeder ghost shrimp, feeder guppies, and feeder goldfish.

I personally have a tank full of feeder ghost shrimp. ( just for the heck of it). They are .25 each, but they are VERY good sized ( most were around 1"+ or larger).

If you do head down to the beach, make sure you try to arrive as early as possible.
Typically their are rows and rows of cars parked on the beach. ( esp. on the weekends).
