Arowana Tried To Eat My Molted Crayfish

So I Came Home From School Yesterday And I Had To Rush Home From School And I Saw My Arowana Had A Fresh Molted Crayfish In His Mouth And I Used The Net To Take It Out And I Saw That The Crayfish Was Breeding So I Put Him Back In My Decoration And He Died Later On Then In The Night The Arowana Went Inside The Decoration To Get Him Again

Bad idea to keep it with the arowana they'll eat just about anything that fits in there mouth

yea but they crayfish is very helpful
they eat left over food and stuff

Looks like the crayfish is a bit too big for the arowana to handle. This would be a good way to kill your arowana

I believe from previous threads that this Aro is in a 55g tank (if I remember correctly) so that fate might be inevitable for this Aro in the future anyhow.

Also, it's a good thing you removed it instead of letting him eat it, being so large.

Best not too rely on Plecos for cleaning tanks, they make more of a mess then they clean up. Want a clean tank? Try a water change with a gravel vac.

+1. Pleco are definitely no substitute for regular tank maintenance. I personally would never house a pleco again after having housed a couple. Their bioload is tremendous.
