300 Gallon acrylic ??? Spider cracks.Safe?

I found a 300 gal. Acrylic on craigslist for a good deal, but the ad said it has spider webbed on the front just left of center. So i emailed him to see the extent of the cracks. Just want to get your opinion on whether or not i can potentially repair and like brace the tanks.

The dims are 8' x 2' x 30" ... Its made of 1/2 in acrylic.

Doesn't look like it would be much of a problem...but then again I could be wrong

And it also looks like its more of a scratch than a crack but I could be wrong there too?
 
Hmmm 1/2" isn't very thick for a tank that tall I'd b a bit nervous of it popping one night
 
That's what it looks like to me in all honesty too. Picture only tell you so much. I am most likely going to buy it, unless someone here changes my mind lol.

THere are some who contacted him before me so lets hope they back out.

My plan would to be potentially use some weld on to "fix" the cracks, then I would take a small sheet of acylic and silcone it over the crack. Maybe make a bracing structure out of 2x4's for the front and back panels to give it some added strength.

That were my thoughts exactly, 3/4 would have been better. 1 in or above would have been EVEN better lol.

That why i was thinking maybe a bracing system would help.
 
It looks more like scratching.

If it's spider web cracking, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. It just means that it's on it's way to bursting and the guy is trying to sell it before it's completely worthless.

True, I have to see it in person to properly diagnose it.
