770 Gallon Monster Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The pics, plumbing, and tank is up and running with some silver dollars in it to test the water lol...I posted some pics of my 360 and 750 on my 750 thread...

I saw that...lookin good. I wish I had the trapezoid overflows you have...they look much better than in the corner like mine.

Nice tank setup
sweet tank
Thanks.
swim with ur fish!!! LOL!

I'm going to have to. I have a large stone I want to add, and I don't think there's any way to safely lower it without getting in.

Beautiful tank. Lol the guy in the 3rd pic with the blue hoodie on seems so upset and not interested in helping at all. Like grumpy smurf

Thanks. I don't think he lifted a finger...he was a friend of the guy I bought it from and he took on more of a supervisory (onlooker) role.

OHH LORD... what about sum ryukins, lion heads and black moors.

The thought has crossed my mind. My LFS had a ryukin that was literally larger than a softball...more like the size of a large cantelope. It must have been 18" long (nose to end of tail). But I don't really like the idea of mixing goldfish types. I have heard that the comets will outcompete the fancy goldfish for food and cause problems.

fill it w/ cichla and aros!

Everytime I walk in the room I imagine an aro roamin the top of the tank. Perhaps someday.

Wicked setup man! I would do a few of the bigger eartheater species and some nice big clown loaches but thats me lol hopefully you figure the heating situation out

I like your thinking. Add a large school of pink tail chalceus roaming the top and a group of silver dollars and that would be a wicked tank. Heating situation is being looked at. Hope I figure it out soon too.

You are my hero!!!!! I think my wife would killed me if I only think of tank that large :D
Post some new pics!!

For heating - maybe it would be cheaper to heat entire room than just tank with AQ heaters

LOL- so many people have mentioned their wives never allowing them to go big. I feel for you guys, but at the same time there are days I wish I hadn't gone so big. ex- heating something even as large as a 240 or 300G would be pricey but not prohibitively expensive. But almost tripling the cost gets a little crazy. The space heaters I looked at pull 1,500watts, so I'm not sure it would be more efficient. I may give it a shot and see what happens.

I like it! Surprised Lupin has chimed in yet.

Thanks. I think you are the second or third person to mention Lupin. From what I hear he's one of the few here on MFK who approve of goldfish keeping, so he sounds like a good guy in my book. :)

Few updates...
-I bought 2 Shubunkins- I don't typically like them, but these two were dope, so I couldn't pass em up.
-I added some plants.
-I found babies...not sure who/how/where or when, but I found babies in the tank and in my filter socks.
-Had a guy over today to give me a quote on a solar panel system.

Not sure why, but I'm not able to embed the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nICtzx1o8A&feature=related

Lopaka- I'm not ready for the heat exchange system yet, but I am eyeballin your Super Dart Gold as a backup pump to my Hammerhead. Expect a PM soon.

The Fresh Prince's of the fish world right here. Beautiful tank man. Yeah, not a chance in hell I would stock that with goldfish either, but it's your tank. When I hit the jackpot I'm gonna buy a tank like this and take a video of me starting it on fire and melting it to the ground just to piss everybody off.

lol- You are crazy man, but I like you.

please excuse my noob question are you going to keep goldfishes in that tank? >_< Very nice setup btw

I am keeping goldfish. I would love to keep:

3 Oscars
1 Green Terror
12 Pink Tail Chalceus
8 Red Hook (or black bar) silver dollars
6 Bala Sharks
18 XL clown Loaches

But heating 800G in the winter time will cost a grip and I don't want to dump anymore money into this hobby. So goldies it is.
