Help me choose my second car - wagon / hatchback

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think I've found it! A Volvo V-50 AWD wagon - just came across it today - it surprised me and is very nice - going to do some research on it now - anyone have any experience? It's a '05.

So, my initial research shows MANY MANY electronic issues with the Volvo - so I'm hoping some of you have had experience - since this car is obviously no longer new - so the problems probably have already "come and gone" so to speak.

Better is XC-70 if your going Volvo '03 and above good 01' and 02' problematic.. Love my 01' though....

When they came out they were advertised to get 50 MPG.
I would recommend a Honda. Solely based on my 1998 accord, 222,000 miles, other then regular maintenance I've only replaced a starter. She still gets 30-35 MPG

Yep, if kept up with regular maintenance and regular servicing, you still can get 35-40 mpg with the CRX HF's. Can't go wrong with a honda, cheap parts, easy to fix yourself, cheap after market part and so on. Great little cars.

Yeah bought my daughter a little 91 civic DX. She gets 45 mpg on the Interstate heading up to the hills on snow boarding trips. She got a heavy foot in town though, only gets about 30 mpg.

wrx wagon, cr-z, if the budget were higher i'd suggest a ct200h, awesome car that even has an f-sport package available next year

I'd say Chevy Cruz Eco, but it's not a hatch/wagon and maybe too small, but I know people that get 50 mpg regularly out of them. What about a Saab 9-3 SportCombi? not sure exactly what MPG they get, though. Probably my favorite wagon out there.

those are awesome for a Honda. My friend had one and he got 45 out of it driving across town every day.
