Sweet Jason and I have no doubt that your male will turn into a beast in time, my pair from that batch also look similar to yours with the female lookintg more impressive than the male. Beautiful fish good luck with them.

Thank you Ira Neither one really showed interest thru the divider but i said what the heck and pulled it, within minutes the female went from normal/washed out coloration to this bright orange!! Im just waiting on the male to catch up i really love the breeding colors and the female should only get more intense. Ill e keeping a lookout for your updates.

Thank you, i didnt measure them for some reason but they are just a little bigger than my wild pair. i would say Male is 6" and Female is 5.5" they maybe a little bigger. And i have them in a 75g for the time being.

I love getting to see the fry all grown up like this!!! Good luck in them spawning! I have only tried a divider one time when I thought the female could use a brake (I was wrong) she just stayed stressed in the corner washed out. As soon as it came out pop with color. My pair will spawn every 1.5 months when I pull the wigglers as soon as they swim...like clockwork.

This is what you have to look forward too...I hope your male looks like mine...intense yellow and some dark black bars. I think he gives her a run for the money!

Thank you, and the male is already looking better this morning i found them in a flower pot together, she was barred up and they were head shaking.... so hopefully sooner than later with these two I recently had some minor issues with my other pair's bond but after this morning it looks like they worked out their issues too lol. Ive got my fingers crossed and im hoping that there is something in my water and what ever it is, it gets the job done

If they are both head shaking I think you are set. My male will chase her around and slowly but surly she gets chased less and does the head shaking...and they like playing peekaboo through the hole in the bottom of there pots...then spawn.

Thats kinda how my wild pair is, except no spawning yet lol this pair here is very mellow so far, havent really seen any aggression yet... knock on wood

Man that females coloration resembles my females coloration alot. I always thought my female was very unique its cool to see another. Ide be interested to see how she looks around 7-8" like mine
