DOES TEMPERATURE MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Thanks for the good responces, very interested in peoples views on this subject so please if you have something to add lets hear it!!
As i've said this is only a trial for my own peace of mind and to share my own personal findings but without causing any harm to my rays as they come first. Im feeding twice a day so food is plentyfull and the rays have produced more females than males so far.

My motoro had 5 new pups today 2 male and 3 females . She gave birth at 100 days.
 
Ma12cus504 has a good "ASSUMPTION" well explained and well notted. thanks for the info.

now on the otherhand Dave also proves a good point too. either way its still intresting to think that the sex of stingray pups could be deturmined - or influenced by water temps. makes you think what other ways could help deturmine or influence the sex of your pups! grate thread will keep checking back for updates! :)
 
Well as promised here's another update.

My female gave birth after only 86 days to 7 pups 5f and 2m only one f pup was a little bit weak but she is now doing fine they are now 12 days old and eating well. The temp and water parameters have stayed constant for the duration of this experiment so far and i'll continue to let all that are interested know of my findings as i find them.
 
Interesting to note how the litter size compares and the duration she holds them. Does the higher temp speed up the process and increase the total amount of pups? Are the pups smaller/normal or larger than previous litters?

On average the pups are 4 inch disc. They are all fully developed and had no yolk sack except for 1 pup from the first litter. I've now had 3 litters 4/3/7 pups, dont know if that has something to do with the temp? I think the higher temp speeds up the development of the pups and i notice that the mother digests her food a lot quicker at this temp, maybe its been absorbed by the pups a lot quicker too?
Anyone think that this could be correct?
