Interesting. I have never been a big spider fan. Tarantulas and Orb Weavers are fine but hunting spiders freak me out. How are they as pets? Feeding well? any difficulties?

the hunting spiders are very interesting.. they are quite easy to take care of. Sand or dirt.. mist them once a day with a spray bottle and feed them once a week a fly or cricket.

I allways liked jumping spiders, some are plain striking or even cute. Tryed them a few times but lost interest, they are just to small.

That is amazing how you have trained your rat. In the first video it is like he is a dog and comes to you as such. How long did it take you to train it to do that. Love the pics as well, especially of it sleeping!!

Well, I have owned the rat for about 2 months! I didn't start teaching him until the second month. So it was just a week or two. Some tricks were much easier to teach.

When I worked in a pet store as a teenage, one of my duties was taking care of the rats. The owner of the store actually bred them as pets and some as feeders. We had a couple large males and all were extremely friendly and intelligent. I have always tried to tell people how the rats make much better pets than hamsters, mice, and gerbils but everyone has their stigma about them. It looks like you are taking great care of him...lucky rat!!!
