You really shouldn't have gravel in there with it. If any is swallowed it can become compacted, leading to death.

what are you talking about? they barley have any jaw strength and do not have a beaked jaw. they eat via suction feeding and swallowing prey whole. getting bit by one (and I have been bit multiple times by my 18" male) is like getting slapped by a wet piece of cardboard.

x2 I didn't notice that but these guys are prone to inhaling gravel. Sand or large river rocks work great.
