*Battle of the Bands* Category-Rock-Best Hair Band

It's time for the Battle of the Band Contest. In our first Battle, we'll vote for our favorite Hair Band.

(Hair Bands are 1980s rock stars who spend as much or more time on hair & make-up than on writing their music.)

Feel free to post pics, videos and generally rock out if you feel inclined.

I would disagree about some of the bands on there being hair bands, like Ozzy, Dio, Van Halen and Aerosmith. That being said, I hate hair "metal" and can't bring myself to vote for any of them, so I won't vote for one that I feel actually fits the category and will vote for Aerosmith. I love Ozzy, especially Sabbath, but have to go w/ Aerosmith based on longevity and collection of works.

I was trying to come up with an even twenty bands to choose from so I was reaching on a few of them. I also intended the poll to be able to choose more than one choice but forgot to click on it.

i consider aerosmith hairband/glam rock

i don't understand why some fans hate calling them that. just because a band was an 80's hairband/glam rock doesn't automatically mean they suck like some of the other hairband/glam rock bands

if you do a search on top ten glam rock bands, aero's up there

i have several favorites on the list but went with aerosmith myself

i still can't believe Don't Wanna Miss a Thing is the band's first and only #1 single

That list is tough to choose from as I listened to most of them.

Scorpions did have long hair but really didn't have make up( you could compare them to AC/DC )

I saw Ratt, Kiss, Dokken and Ozzy in concert.

Also not on the list that I saw was Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and AC/DC.

Had tickets for Dio once but he canceled.

I agree Dio is a little out of place, but Aerosmith is the mother of all hair bands, thats the band that half the bands on the list were trying to be. VH is at home and Ozzy during the 80's isn't tooo far fetched. I had to go with GnR, I didn't want to but when I thought about what I was listening to and what had the most impact I had to pick them. It was a photo finish with Telsa minus the over played love songs. Early Dio would have been high on the list but I see him(them) as more metal less hair.
