Has anyone here ever purchased or used a Jehmco Diaphram air pump? Are they quiet, dependable pumps?

I do not own one, but I hear good things. Some of my local club members have said that they are quiet.

Ok great, I think I will go with it instead of the Altia 6a, plus its cheaper.. I can get pump w weight airstones and weighted tubing for the price of Altia 6a pump.

i have one.
its great and quite.
i would spend the money there worth it.

Cool this makes me feel good about the purchase, I will be ordeirng tomorrow..

Yes I have the Alita but have heard good things about the Jehmco (the Jehmcos were not on sale when I bought mine so the price was not that different and I think the Alita's are a bit more efficient). I do like the metal Alita gang valve better than the plastic one (you will need a gang valve to bleed off excess air). When you get it take some pics they look strikingly similar. The Alita is made in Taiwan, curious if the Jehmco is made there too.

My first choice was the alita but at $106 for the 6a, and it not being recommended for a tank 4ft tall, which means I would have to move up to the next level in turn costing more, decide to research futher. After talking to jehmco about their pumps and a few members of this fourm, decided to give it a try. I will give a review of the pump for quality, flow and noise. I actually moved up to a dhmp 20 vs the 15 and he gave me a deal. Plus I will have a three way gangbar and clamps plus the three weight 10'' difusers/aristones that was still cheaper than the alita I would have had to purhcase to get good oxygen and circulation in the tank. So I am excited about the deal. We will see if the "you get what you pay for" bites me in the butt.. Actually it won't be funny!
