No they are not horrible invasive species...stupid media and wildlife officals, they hasn't research on snakeheads properly. Giant snakehead is a tropical species, unable to survive in Maryland or any colder climate and no reproducing populations of Giant Snakehead are known in United States.Someone released one in maryland i believe and they have invaded many bodies of water. There have been more then one species of snakehead found in the usa waterbodies. Pretty horrible invasive species.
fist, you should know that only public aquarium or research center can get those permit! second, you can get frozen SH in most Asian food market! You can buy one in Texas, but it would take lots of time and money,
you need an aquaculture license, a waste waste water management license, an exotic animal permit, and an exotic fish importers permit, but technically it could be done. I researched how to get one legally a couple of years ago, but the time and money involved ,made me back out really quick
im new in mfk,i want to ask why giant snakehead are illegal in usa....?
