That male is amazing! And very very nice setup. I love the plants going up the driftwood...
Thanks. There used to be more "planted" plants but these guys are excellent diggers
Very nice fish and tank set-up!
Thanks!

Looking Good! I still have my little group minus a female that suddenly passed as well. If I remember correctly, Ken said it took him a year and a half before he got them to breed. I'll have to post some pics of mine one of these days....
I love it.
back in the early 2000's I kept a trio of 1 male and two females that I grew up in a 65g tank.
I was able to keep them with big amazon swords and vals without issue.
I did lose them to a camallanus worm problem. I haven't seen them in my area since![]()
Nice. I envy everyone's planted tanks, I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and try it... I wish i had more females, but I only have one female. I started with four 1" fish that I picked up at The Wet Spot about a year and a half ago. One died within a day, and two ended up being male. I am thinking about getting a few more, but I'm not sure if they would ever catch up enough growth-wise to go together.
They look great. It looks like they've put on some weight since you got them. The cichlid store in my area has some small balzanii but they aren't as yellow and he wants $20 each for 2" fish. So I think I'll hold off until you get some fry.![]()
