my 15cm(approx) gar is turning white. the black spots/line near his face have turned pale and i can't figure out whats wrong. help??

Ive noticed with my Florida that when the lights in the tank are out he turns almost white..and when I turn the lights back on in the morning his color returns fairly quickly...within a few minutes. I believe this to be some sort of camouflage for the dark, though Im sure some of the other people on here have studied up on it. Is this what youre referring too?

Normal....they are resting, but sooner or later the line at the eye is gonna go away

Mine too

i suspect it has something to do with the lights. cos like whenever im out for the night(meaning the lights are out in my house) he is pale when i get back. i leave the lights on and go for a shower, and his eye has that black stripe again when i'm back. so i guess its got to do with the lighting like ampthefrogguy said :D
