Ok, I officially hate my moke now!!! I divided him from my other 3 polys cuz he was giving them tail fin injuries. Last night, I guess my moke snook to the other side and went in my weeksi's castle. Tonight when I went to check on my weeksi inside the castle. My moke and weeksi both popped out. When i looked at my weeksi's tail fin I legit flipped out!!! dang! My moke bit off more than half of my weeksi's tail fin!!!!!!!! The remaining fin is severely split of a wide rectangle split!! It looks terrible! My weeksi's tail was just getting healed from my mokes previous attack!!!:nilly:I just don't have the luck with fish! Will the tail actually heal to normal again or will there be a ugly split on a weird looking tail??? any experiences??? what is the outcome and when will the tail heal??

HELP!

as long as it isnt all the way down to the base you should be fine. just toss in some aquarium salt or QT the weeksi and use a mix of melafix and salt with heavy aeration.

I have seen like 8 posts recently of all your bichirs being injured, tail fin splits, nostrils being bitten off, heater burn...Maybe you should get rid of the problem maker or buy a whole new tank, to save you and your fish from the stress.

I see ur getting annoyed lols. The thing is, my moke is my favourite fish and isn't a 75 gallon tank already good for 4 juvi bichirs?

will it grow back normally or messed up like my delhezis pectoral fins after getting half of it bitten off.

ive had this issue with an ornate taking my weeksii tail of really bad,it did take a long time to heal but did grow back perfectly fine. i agree with one of the others quarintine him with melafix and salt raise temp slighty and have good air flow. the ornate had to go and replaced with another ornate and he was fine, these fish although peaceful do have there own tempemants,in my experience growing them up with others is best instead of adding fully grown polypterus that have never been around others. ppl may not agree but in my experience gone well and have bichirs up to 20 years old and never lost a bichir yet

I HAVE YET TO HAVE ANY AGGRESSION PROBLEMS..I THINK YOU SHOULD ADD MORE IT WILL LESSON THE AGGRESSION. I KEEP ALOT OF POLY IN MY TANK AND AM YET TO HAVE PROBLEMS. ARE YOU FEEDING ENOUGH? THERE MUST BE SOMETHING CAUSING IT...WHATS YOU FEEDING, WC, AND MAITENANCE SCHEDUL LIKE.

no i'm pretty sure I got a rogue poly moke. He attacks any fish that get near him. All of polys are the same size of 4.5 inches.

did the fin look different (as in roughness and pattern) and did the fin heal back perfectly like before? How bad was ur bichir's injury? specifics would be awesome! thanks
