***HELP!!!! blown transformer on my block and power is outil tomorrow!!!***

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I only worry because I did a wate change a couple of weeks ago and filled the tank a little to much. So much as to stop surface aggitation being that the water was to the underside of the top.... I got up the next morning and had all the africans in the 180g glass tank gasping for air and I ended up losing a female venustus from my colony and I had to run ton stones for half of that day before the rest of the crew were acting normal and breathing normal again.... the tank inhabitants are listed above and I do weekly and bi-weekly water changes (135g, 40g and 15g get b/w w/c's)...

What are you using for filtration?

Always have aerators standing by, i lost 4 fish during a power outage a couple months ago because i didnt have any battery powered air pumps. i have a large battery powered one now always running just incase

I agree my biggest concern would be my bio-media.. the fish should be fine and dandy. Bacteria is more delicate ime then fish. Once everythings back up and running a few water tests are def in order and some water changes.

No worries, just do some waterchanges and you'll be fine.

My power was out for 4 days last month because of tornadoes. After it came back on fish were fine (a lil stressed) and BB in filters were fine. I think I was worse off then the fish from worrying so much about them.

Man Iam at farmington and 5. Where is the power in Livonia

Well I'm not sure if you had been affected.. Hopefully not.. And hopefully they have learned from this occassion. Haven't lost power since for more than a minute or two, TWICE!? LOL What CRAP!!!!???

Either way, I'm prepared now... I purchased a used 4kw Generator that has 220/240-30a, 120v-30a, 120v 15a and even a 12v DC plug... So this will thing will allow me to run my tanks and fridge until I get a better or bigger setup.

I'm looking into Windmills and battery banks at the moment as well as Pulse motor Generators! Off the Grid, here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
