What I don't understand is why it didn't leave when they kept moving it back to the forest; I guess it didn't get the memo that it wasn't a puppy.

Wow so thought this was about the penn state scandal. lol Just kidding. It is pretty cool though. Hopefully its all good with the snake and the kid.

You can't domesticate reptiles. Whether you can keep them alive, healthy and satisfied in captivity is another thing altogether.

At this point, some reptiles in captivity probably could be considered domesticated; some of them have changed pretty radically from their wild counterparts in both appearance and behavior. For example, bearded dragons, green iguanas, and leopard geckos are considered to be domesticated due to their extensive farming/captive breeding that resulted in changes in behavior and appearance. However, that particular Burmese python is technically considered domesticated; it's just highly tolerant of people.

^This, domesticated means that they have been bred in captivity for generations, not that they like people. Liking people or even anything but tolerating them is a different thing altogether. It is quite possible to domesticate any animal, the difference is whether it is a "pet" or a "specimen". Most reptiles are the latter, very few reptiles I would consider "pets".

Noted. My bad. Nice python though, wish I had one with that kind of attitude.
