Mine doubled in size in a month. I have a 150g and would only keep one in that tank (with smaller tank mates). Not really sure about 6-8 in either 125g-180g. Maybe at least 240g. If you are inspired by Lee's tanks, you will notice they are kind of understocked.

Thanks, yes I agree with your statement about his tanks.maybe I can only get a pair in a 125-180,I did see some examples of syns living as a group, I don't remember the details,maybe it was not long term
 
these guys never stay in one place,tough to get clear shots! starting to show some reds.the last shot is their father,in another tank

i am looking to buy feeder fish by the hundreds. please comment on my thread if you know where i would be able to buy feeder fish thanks
 
I think a group in a 125 would be fine, probably better with 5-6 in there rather than 6-8 though because they do get pretty big. A small colony thing would look so cool! best of luck with them and aquascaping. btw the vert sticks look ace. thinkin about doing it myself
 
Any updates on these growouts? I don't mind pulling teeth for good looking fish, and I wonder how well all these guys are doing together.
