I had a pair of jags in my 120g. I lost the female 6 months ago and now residing alone in this tank is just my gorgeous male. I really don't want to get another female, are there any other tank mate that would happily reside in a 120g with my 8-9'' male jag?

Getting rid of him is not an option for me, I've watched him grow and he's just starting to get the beautiful speckling... he's quite the character. I've been hesitant for so long introducing him to another fish for fear of how he might react. He's very outgoing. He's been in this tank for quite some time now by himself and I worry he may be territorial. He won't bother my hand while cleaning out the tank, but he readily attacks the tube during vacuuming. Is this a sign he may be too territorial for other tank mates?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks.

you could try adding a fish like a convict to see his temperment before adding something for life

Medium sized pleco or catfish maybe. I love my striped raphael and nothing ever bothers it. I haven't kept Jags in a long time because I like keeping tank mates. They are great solo fish.

most of the time when a jag is alone for period of time it will no longer allow tankmates. I would try a large catfish or something small to see how he reacts

really sounds like you really like this fish and its working so why change it? my suggestion is keep the jag alone and have a nice wet pet.
