I have 3 of these and all three the canister tray is filled with substrate pro bio media and love every one of them.

I just ordered two yesterday and put them on the tank today to get better filters on the tank and looks like I need to get some bio media to put in them

40breeder and a 55, the one on the 55 is more for bio than mechanical since there is an even larger canister already on it

would 2l of searchem matrix fill the media tray in two HOT canisters? and would that work well with ceramic rings in a cascade 1200?
