Yes, I used 8 liters of pond matirx that I had seeding in the holding tanks wet/dry, plus I used turbo start 700 frozen bacterial and 5 bottles of secheam stability and to my surprise the tank actually completed the cycle today. Which took less than two weeks to get through the first cycle, but to me that seemed like forever as this is my first time doing a fishless cycle. I have added 4ppm ammonia back to the tank in hopes that it is gone within 24-48 hrs, and if so i will do a 50% change and add a few fish this weekend . I'm getting excited again...
Yahoo, my tank is completely cycled with in 48 hours after rasing the ammonia and nitrites to 4ppm, it has cleared up for the second time. Alright time for some fish..I am proud of myself for doing the fishless cycle for the first time, and being patient, well two weeks of patients.
Thank you, but I have to be honest, I paid at least $150 to get it to cycle quicker, from the turbo start 700 frozen bacteria to about 5 bottles od seachem stability) but in my opinion was money well spent, considering it could have taken up to a month or more, not sure if I would have made it that longCongratulations on doing things the right way!

Kind of suck having a big tank sitting in the house with no fish.
I should have more pic this weekend after all my daddy/husband duties are complete, I'll start revamping landscaping and do a large water change and add a few fish..
How much water should you change out after a cycle like this anyway???? I was thinking about 60% no, yes???
Change out enough water to get your nitrates really low, and then add your fish. (Changing out all the water will not impact the BB in your filtration system) After you add your fish, keep monitoring your water parameters.
Thanks, he's a beast.. I just hopes he does not out grow the tank..nice first fish lol
