ill admit, catfish can be sluggish sometimes but ive had many times when i worried. Specifically the 23lb flat and the 38lb blue. It takes a pretty big fish to bend a cat maxx rod over liek that blue did and i swore my rod was going to break everytime that flathead dove down

I took my daughter on her first "real" fishing trip where she could hold her own rod and reel in her own fish. Anyhow, she made me proud, not only did she catch the most, she caught the biggest whiting out of anyone else on the pier that day! This was her first, a monster whiting! It was about 2lbs. A 2lb whiting puts up a bigger fight then a 6lb LMB and it had her little reel screaming with 4lb test. Heck, the fish was about half the length of her rod! She had an even bigger one on but it broke off as we were waiting for the net.

How are the whiting in Navarre? I went to PCB during my thanksgiving break and only saw one whiting for 3 days. Caught a few bull reds though.
They are just now starting to get thick. It takes several days of a good cold north wind to bring them in in good numbers.
Next time you are down, hit me up and we will do some fishing.
