Recommendation for 800 watt or higher heater?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What ever you go with I would look into a controller also. I have two crappy 300 watt heaters with a very nice controller. What I do is set my controller to maintain 80 degrees by only turning power on to the heaters when the tank falls below that. The heaters are set for 90. if anything happens to the controller then hopefully the heaters don't heat above 90. If one of the heaters fails to heat I should notice that also. Spend the money on a controller and use a couple heaters for redundancy.

Jehmco 1000 watt with controller. Google Jehmco. I got mine on recommendation from Jcardona, we are both very happy with them and they aren't that expensive.

I a looking to pick up a 1000W heater after Christmas. I would probably go with Jehmco but I already have a controller and the Jehmco heaters come with non-standard plugs. I will probably go with a Blueline heater at Pharoh's recommendation.

Pardon me but wouldn't this setup won't guard against heaters stuck on?
