Nope. I got him from Ira. He's a vendor here under "The Wish List". Although I believe that the ones Rapps is selling are the same race
Yeah, I'm surprised. I've always been told they are slow growers. Maybe getting them to that 2" range is the harder part?

What can you tell me about his personality? I have gotten mixed reviews so far. Some say they're very outgoing and have a "wet pet" personality and others say they're shy. Mine are still too young to tell, but they are not scared of me at all. The other day I almost sucked one out of the tank with the syphon cause he decided to explore it during a water change lol, they also follow me around for food... but my Salvini were very outgoing when small and became super skittish and boring once they hit the 4" mark.
I would say a mixture of both so far. Most of the time he get's excited and swims back and forth across the tank when he sees me, but he runs and hides when it's time for a water change. My female is a bit more timid, but neither of them ever really hide, aside from when I'm sticking my hand in the tank. I'll try and get a decent photo of her later. She hasn't really colored up yet, but she's getting there. She's about 2.5" now. She follows the male around like a tail though..lol.
