Does Synspilum X BP produce fertile males?

I am wondering because I know Syn is part of the mix and I am thinking breeding it back would introduce fertile males.

yes but there is still gona be infertile ones.

yeah i imagine so, if you look on a thread called "all the hybrids i can find" or something along those lines, theres actually a guy that bred synXbp so he would be a good one to ask.

It baffles me tho, flowerhorn males are mostly fertile (exept white eye) and yet, a BP with ALOT less heritage arnt fertile. Natures way i guess

I think the reason male FH are fertile is because most FH genetics are mostly trimac. I would guess 60 - 70%. But this is just my hypothesis.

wheres ed? he knows about this stuff.

I would be interested in your results if you try it.. fertile males do come from outcrossing parent species but it would depend on many factors, I think you would have to do this for several generations in order to produce males with solid genetics

I might try sometime but I can't now due to my current situation. My LFS has had this very fertile FemaleBP for a few years so I will probably be able to get it when I need it. Also my othrr lfs is always stocked with syns
