anyone selling good quality rays in the uk

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I drove up to Aquaman to pick up my rays as would not want them in a courier. They were not fed for a few days pre trip which meant no ammonia in the water. I also got to see the parents and the lab like conditions of cleanliness that they were brought up in. Highly recommend and pay a little more for known quality!

I'm in the North East of Scotland and breed Pearls.

Aquaman45 out of interest how much do you sell your marbles for?[/QUote.

Hi Dex.
Not sure if this is the place to give prices but seen as some folk seem to think I charge ridiculous amounts for them its a good time to set the record straight.
The price is £250 ea for both males and females,I used to get £350 each before this hideous recession we are all struggling with,at £250 given the quality I personally think i'm giving them away.
Have 2 males and a female available if anyone is interested. These need to be with me a few weeks so I can get them feeding properly, they are a week old and almost 15cm disc size..huge at birth.

Let's see some pics then!

A shop local to me sells captive bred pearls for £600 a pup....or at least that is what he asks for them, having said that if Richard sold to a shop they would need some margin so £600 would be right, when I had a shop we trebled all cost prices.

My camera is dead at the mo Toby but soon as its sorted and they are settled I will post pics.
Chance would be fine thing trebling up on everything, this is true of very small tetras etc but larger odd ball stuff such as Rays and big Cats etc are doubled up at best, its a competative market now, high end stuff has one price these days, there is no trade and retail price, this is why few shops stock rarities anymore,in many cases they can't compete with private breeders....shame as many rays are now sold without the proper knowledge, this is unfortunately true with many shops also, because you own a shop doesn't mean you suddenly become a ray expert.
Thanks for the kind words Toby regarding my fish house,if you liked it then you would like it now,its very much improved.
Cheers mate!

your prices are only high because its what you make a living out of its not purely a hobby

maybe if he had pulled up in a beat up transit van you would have charged him less as your prices normally go on how much you think someone has in there wallet we can dig at each other all day if you like its up to you

im still waiting for your xmas card it must be stuck in the post :grinno:
