Thanks Ben! I know I can do better though :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So this is the result tonight after turning down the setting for shutter speed (from 1,000 to 200) and pushing back the aperture to F16. Obviously the lighting is an issue because I still am shooting without a speedlight but the focus has improved x10 for a fish on in motion. I am shooting in manual focus without flash and it is still not the best but a lot better than it was.
What do you guys think/would change? Not bad IMO for not having a speedlight?
Those look killer! I'm gonna have to try that lol. Commander mode has something to do with your remote flash setup, and syncing several. Havent dove in that deep yet, but I'm pretty sure he's using it for all flash setups. He talked about it in one of his Today in the fishroom threads. I'll see if I can find it,,,,
hmmm
i wouldn't go till F16, 'cause although a small aperture does give a deep DOF, it goes off for the colors captured, and your subject kinda melts into the background, it would be better if the subject had a better outline, may be f12 would give better colored shots
OK, I left the shutter speed at 200 and changed the aperture to F12 like you recommended and I have to say these are the best shots yet. What do you think? I am going to need a really good speedlight for a taller 30" tanks because when I use the same setting they are damn near black.. Any advice on which model speedlight will do well for 20" to 30" tall tanks?
Niiice shots
i like the 3rd pic more
i think u will get much better pics with a speedlite for sure
any speedlite should give good results, i use third party speedlites, the ones i use are yongnuo 565 speedlites, and use the styrofoam box diffusers
Trust me the speedlight is going to happen very soon and I can see why now. Can I ask why the third shot over the first is your favorite? I thought the first was my best of those three. What are you seeing over the first, I may be missing? Don't worry I won't get offended I'm asking a trained eye to tell me what you think? So be honest ;)
