I recently got a 70 gallon aquarium and thinking about what to stock it with. Right now i have 2 blue acaras and a jag in a 29 and 2 green severums and 5 festae fry in a 10 but they will be moved into the 29 so lets not worry about them. Now with the three others i don't know if i want to keep them or start over again. What i would be interested in are SA/CA cichlids i really enjoy aggresive ones but any will do maybe a bichir or cool pleco some catfish or any oddball fish! I know this is a pretty vague question but anything helps! im thinking maybe something like a dovii or keep my jag with a bichir and a catfish of some sort or instead of the aggresive cichlid, or maybe a community tank with fish from those types. I would like to know what you would put in a 70 (of my interests of SA/CA cichlid bichir catfish and larger pleco) thanks for any feedback all ideas welcome and just need help brainstorming!

Way to small for a dovii. You could do a nice planted angel an ram cichlid tank. Or you could keep a Midas or RD. Or maybe go saltwater.

How about an L-114 leapord cactus pseudacanthicas pleco? They will get about a foot or so but grow really skow. I would try to find an adult specimen. You could also keep just about any fast schooling fish with it. With some agressive cichlid it will be 1 per tank and can be boring when the fish sits in the corner all the time.

Haha thats okay. i already had two oscar my fish killed them both :( so i rather not get one! but i do deciede to get one my friend has one that he eon't be able to care for in another couple months so ill take his

70 gallon, you can only grow 1-2 large cichlids in the end. Back in the day for my 75g, I started with 3 small cihlids and a few cyno cats. Over the years, in the end, I was left with 1 large and spoiled cichlid. He claimed and decided the tank was his and his alone. lol
:D

It is good to have at lest one oscar. bet you can't wait to get your freinds oscar. They have tons of personality. just remember that a single Oscar needs 70 gallons. Good luck

A FEMALE Jag would be an okay single fish.Or maybe 1 red terror cichlid. you might like A pair of jack Dempsey. , 2 Severum Cichlid would look amazing , 1 Midas/red devil cichlid would make any tank , What bout a chocolate Cichlid , A green teror would look nice , 1 pearsei cichlid would work

The only Large cichlid i have is an 14 inch red Oscar. Who has collumnaris but luckily he is starting to look better after i did a 60 percent water change and added meds. Good Luck!!!! These are some cool large American Cichlids.
