Hi guys, I am new to pleco and just got a 3" L273 coz i think it's really beautiful (and I know it'll get big-- I luv big fish). But I also heard that plecos are so ph/temp sensitive in that they may suddenly die due to ph /temp shock. Anywayz, I'm keeping the L273 with my tetras in a 10 gallon tank; there are some plants and a pot in it. I have 50% water change once per week. I would like to know if the setting and maintanence mentioned are enough for L273. Or anything else I should pay extra attention to? Many thanks!!:D

I have had pseusdacanthicas ploeco before L-25,L-114 L-24 which your L-273 but never an L-273 before. I just did a 30% weekly change and my plecos were find they are actually kind of hardy as long as extremes are avioded. I wouldn,t mess with PH just keep doing what you are doing.

Sounds like you are doing what is needed. But I would make sure he gets some veggies, cucumber, zucchini, etc.

They need lots of protein too, lots of meaty foods!

Great advise guys.

It will look like this when older.
I've also seen the orange type but unfortunately I've never been able to bring some :-(
