What kind of Minnow is this?

Hi, these are some wild caught minnows I got when they were like 1/16 - 1/8 inch. I have some in my pond and also moved some into a tank indoors. This on pictured here is from my aquarium indoors. I was thinking it was a fathead minnow but not sure. Anyone know?

It doesnt seem silver enough to be a fathead, and the black is kinda faded. I've got many fatheads and i didnt recognize it. could be a small chub.

Yeah I had 6 of these indoors and decided to give them away to some guy with a pond. I felt they were too active and aggressive feeders for the other inhabitants. But I still have some in the pond. Like I say, I caught about 30 of these at 1/16-1/8 inch around may/june and at the time of the picture last month they were almost 2 inches. I will grow them out bigger and see what I get. I thought they were fatheads but when I look at pics they don't look like it.

that seems pretty big for a fathead, i've got fatheads i've been growing out for the same time that are barely 1 1/2 inch. they seem to get fatter as they age, just not as long. Maybe its a shiner species or chub

Seems likely to me that it's a chub.
