I have a clown knife fish that is currently in a grow out tank... my question is: is it a good idea once my clown knife gets big, to put him in my backyard pond? the pond is about 4 feet deep (not sure how much gallon it holds) has a big pleco, a red tailed cat fish, a snapper size for my palm and a few goldfish + minnows.. im asking this cause i don't want anything to happen to my clown knife like stress him or something.(one of my fav. fish)

With a Snapping Turtle and a RTC...I'm going to say no. You said the Snapper is only a baby, but I'm not familiar with these guys when it comes to aggression or growth rate, but I do hear they can be pretty aggressive. The RTC is a fast growing fish and will eat the CK once the RTC is big enough. The combo of a CK and RTC can be done, but it's risky. RTCs are large mouth predators and CKs are thin.

It can be done and the temp is good enough Trust me it's doable. Not a guarantee peace treaty amongst the fish but doable and it's been done. As for the Snapper it's less likely eat big fishes that don't neccessarily fit it's mouth however, having said that I've seen them take about 14-16inch kois heads off. Which means they might kill them just not eat them. RTC are less likely to attack big fishes as it gets bigger and if they are fed well they get along with most bigger pred fishes. But any RTC under 2ft will most likely take anyting that fits in eats mouth easily and happily ...very hearty and healthy eaters. But if the pond is big enough it's less likely to happen. Less likely doesn't mean it's not going to happen it means theres a chance it could still happen. Just don't put a Jau in the mix it'll Wipe out any pond of all fishes especially the RTC that will probably be the first to go and probably take the snapper out too...that snapper part was sarcastic humor.

Didn't see that, same opinion then.
