I've had it for two days and all it does is sit on the bottom of the tank....for hours and hours. The water is fine, temp is fine, everything is fine.
Is this common or should I be worried?

Would not worry right now. Give him a few days and see how he respond. It could be suffering a little stress from the move.

How big is the tank? He is just stressed. I just got a 4-5 inch fire mouth yesterday. I put it in my tank but the other fish attacked him. So i had to move him to a separate tank. After I did that he did and is doing the same thing. But when I leave the room he swims around a little. He might be swimming around when you leave. if not he is just stress. It is rare to move a cichlid that size to a other tank. Without the cichlid being stressed. A cichlid that size can live 2-3 weeks with no food. Give it some time. Do not worry.I would advise you add some salt. GOOD LUCK!!!!

its very common for them to do this for long periods of time. My first jd would swim all day for weeks, then one day he would lay around and do that for days
