Picked Up a Flowerhorn Need ID

Picked up this male flowerhorn for $10. What kind is he? And can I expect much from him? Will the red spread? Will he have a large Nuchual Hump? He had a small hump but It shrank when I got home.Thanks

Get some more pics after he has settled in some more. The hump will probably come back, it can shrink during stress or breeding Looks like a ZZ, but his color looks faded. Is he faded out in the video from the lighting or stress or is he really more pink and silver green?

My camera washes out his color a lot. he is really silver and pink. He is stressed he is in his own tank and all he does is hide.

Looks like a Red Dragon in the process of fading(or it could just be your camera as what you said). Either way; it is a nice fish and the nuchal hump will be there for sure. The real question behind it is - how large will that nuchal hump grows? No one knows, everything you do in terms of care and feeding will determines how the genetic wants to throw itself out.

I'm just guessing but by the way the color is and the weak flowerline I'm gonna say its a female you must vent to be forsure....looks like a ZZ malau

Its not a female all traits point towards male.
