I think it's gonna be a repeat of 07. Pats vs Giants. Ravens had a hard enough time stopping the Texans offense for most of the game today. Not saying Brady will smoke the Ravens the way they smoked Denver, but if Pats defense can stop the Ravens offense(which is much more likely than the Ravens stopping Brady) the Pats will win. I think it will be a low scoring game though.(Would love to see the Ravens take it!) I'm going for the Giants in the NFC game. I'm not sure Smith will be able to hang with the pass rush the Giants are going to bring. Unless the 49ers have a great rushing night, it will be an easy W for the Giants. Not to mention, Manning is having an excellent year. They should have no problem taking it down the field. In the last match up, the 49ers barely got the win, and the Giants weren't playing with half the intensity they're playing with now. If the 49ers do win, I highly doubt it will be by more than 10 points. But in all honesty, you never know who will take it. The post season can bring plenty of surprises. Sometimes it just comes down to who wants it more....

The match up I would love to see though, is the Ravens and Giants. So maybe we can get some redemption for 2001 :irked:
 
Guess it doesn't really matter if you had a soft schedule if you win in the playoffs :thumbsup: So glad to see the Pack gone.
 
Hellz, yeah. G-Men are looking good, but I'm glad we have to play them instead of Green Bay and that it's at home.

Same here. We have beat NY before and can again. Was much more concerned with GB than I am with NY. It won't be easy but it is better this way at the stick!
 
This is a tough week to be a giants fan in the bay area, I love it, but it's weird having everyone at my school at my throat about how the 49ers will win easily. Like what's been mentioned in this thread already, you guys think that since you guys already beat us, you guys can again. This is a COMPLETELY different defense. When we first played we lost Michael boley, had Michael Coe playing in coverage, and perry fewell continued to run a zone based scheme, even with his defenses strength being in man coverage (Corey Webster is a top 5 man coverage corner, and Aaron Ross is horrible in zone only Phillips plays well in zone).

Without Michael boley in, we had 2 rookie linebackers in the lineup, with a 3rd coming in on passing downs, and a converted DE at the other spot. Needless to say, the entire middle of the field was open with a simple clever look by Alex smith. The rookies would also bite on deeper routes, leaving everything in the flat available. Making the miners first touchdown in the 4th quarter possible. Their second touchdown in that quarter occurred after a misplay by both Greg jones and mark herzlich. Kendall hunter was able to just walk into the end zone.

At the DL position, tuck and umenyiora were both playing banged up, now that they are completely
healthy, resulting in 17 sacks in the last 4 games. Their constant pressure allows the giants to only rush 4, something the niners didn't see last week. With 7 people in coverage, the giants have completely fixed their coverage problems. Last week, the saints consistently rushed 6 and sometimes 7 players. This is why Alex smith could constantly find Vernon Davis. That will not happen this week. Not only will Michael boley be all over him (just ask Jason witten, Tony Gonzalez, and jermichael Finley how good boley is) with Antrel rolle most likely providing a ton of help. With Webster shutting down crabtree, the niners won't have many options in the passing game, which is why I believe the niners only chance is to run the ball, even though Chris canty has become a force against the run, the giants second level is not too impressive(other than kiwanuka) against the run. The niners must keep the ball away from the giants offense, and can do that with the run.

Like Antrel rolle said, be careful what you wish for.
 
Tom is all about revenge this year. Jets got swept and were not availble to beat so denver had to do. Bal u r next. U hurt my feelings bad 2 years ago whe u came into the hallowed grounds at foxborough and handed us a loss. And that leaves miracle catch giants left for tom to reign down his full wrath.

Please spare me! I hope"tom" gets pummeled into oblivion-he can cry on his supermodels shoulder!....and the niners fans have been silenced.very good,maybe they'll win now!can't wait to see that defensive showdown.may the best team win!ravens-niners rematch is my final prediction.

We haven't been silenced, we just aren't going to be trolled (not saying you are, it's just coming across that way). Take it easy OK? Everyone (niner fans or not) quit posting after you made the comments above.

Either way it's all good, today is going to be an AWESOME day!!! Glad your looking forward to it too :thumbsup:
