Nice plants, how do you keep them alive, are they easy to take care of? Cool pictus cat....show us the carapo knife! :grinno:

why rnt we friends yet? i remeber when you had less post then me, now you over triple my number, any way ill see if i can get a vid of the carapo or at least a pic of him now, his very nocturnal and can tell the diff between the blue and the dark, even tho he is blind, but as to how i keep my plants alive... iv got a coralife 4 bulbs square pronged reef light, im sure if you used a walmart shop light with 2 48inch "aquarium/plant bulbs" you could do the same thing cuz thats what i used to use. and i had some crazy plant on my 125 when i had that DIY set up. but gimmie a few min and ill see if i cant get some vid

Lol, good question...I remember when I had less posts than you also. I've surpassed lots of people in short time, I guess you could say I have a lot of time on my hands.

& I can understand your carapo hiding a lot and being camera shy. I kinda figured thats why you didn't have him in the video. My clown knife was the same way. He rarely ever came out, he'd only come out when the lights were off. I don't care how nocturnal he was though, he was great.

If you can't get a decent pic or video of him, its fine

I never heard or seen of anyone keeping a carapo knife on here besides you, I'd love to have one someday. Where'd you purchase it?

i purchased him from a good friend and LFS owner.. i went in one day and said "ok bobby what new and exciting fish do you have for me" and he said " well.. iv got one Andrew.. but i dont know what it is.." and he showed me this knife fish labled as a black ghost knife and he said what is it... i told him and he said.."15 bucks" and i said "deal".... and thats how i obtained him.
i just got a vid where you can get a glimps of him

tell you what, next time im in ill tell bobby to order one (if possible) and ill let you know what he want for it, at discount, lord knows iv helped him out more than he can repay

Oh, that is awesome that you got such a uncommon oddball for that price. & that would be great man, but I still live with my parents and my mom said "NO MORE FISH"...lol :(. I'm also outta room in my tanks for one. I appreciate the offer though! When I move out, I'll definitely have to consider getting one though :D

i recomend them, they rule, esp if you dont feed for like 3 days then drop some shrimp in there, i think they can produce an electic charge similaar but much weaker than an electric catfish or electric eel, i know for fact they can produce it for location and such, but from what iv gathered thru keeping them.... example.. i witnesed my sunfish go after a piece of shrimp .. the same piece that my carapo wanted, as the carapo aproached the sunfish geeked hard core, as in he twiched and swam away, so iv dron the conclusion that he can "shock" enimies over territory or food
