Like dirt and the veggie scraps that you feed them. I try to keep stinky food out of it (onions, garlic, etc.)
If you feed meat, milk products, grease, etc, it will stink to high hell (which is why you don't)...

I get earthworms from "kanutsons worms" here in michigan somewhere

i bought 2000 red wigglers from uncle jims worm farm in pa, for $4o.00 devilverd

How many of you guys feed earthworms as part of your rays (adults) normal diet? Mine eat massivore, gel food, shrimp and tilapia. Never did much with earthworms.
I am trying to decide if it makes sense to do a colony of earthworms or just order a pack when I have pups born. Buying them locally a few dozen at a time was a pain in the butt this time so looking to simplify it for the next batch in a few months.

DITTO! I raise my own in a 55 gallon aquarium and feed vegetable scraps and anything else organic-
Yep! I avoid meat, milk products or anything stinky, red wrigglers are easy to raise . A guy that is on MFK-Rainbow Worms- much better than Uncle Jim's(I bought from both and won't go back to jim's)
I feed Nightcrawlers to my adults I only feed around 4-5 a day but it is their favorite food for sure. I also feed shrimp, tilapia, and pellets
im very happy with the health of jims worms. i only bought them because my 3 hysterix still are eating anything else, but finally now after two months there taking shrimp chopped up with chopped worms.

Jim's Worms- I ordered from them once and received frozen worms- a solid block. I called, emailed x2, and never got a response. Not even considerate enough to say- "we really don't care about your business."
