New sump water return question.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I figured thAt, referring to a. I was wondering if it was anything special. And would just like a piece of plastic grid with a sponge or piece of filter on top over the bio balls make the water spread out so that it rains over the bioballs all the way across?

not enough to cover them all. you would need to my a drip plate with plexi or acrylic IMO.

How would I need to make one. Like what would the drip pan need to look like? And jc, just the person I was looking for! Ok, so I did a nationwide search on Craigslist and found a cs102 for 50 bucks, and can get it mailed for 13 if the people will go for it. Soo what size pump would we need for the return if we get a cs102 overflow box? And it comes with hoses that have ridges, would it be better to get smooth tubing or PVC vs the ridgey hose? That's the kinda hose it comes with stock. Same hose that's on ours in the pic.

lol spellcheck. To funny. I'm the WORST with that......

Honestly, if you go with that overflow you've got LOTS of options for pumps all the way up to 1200 gph. What's your head height? Distance from top of the pump to the water level and add 1 foot per 90.

Distance from water level of tank? And what do you mean by 'add 1ft per 90'?

measure the height that the return line will have to travel from about 6" off the floor to the top of the tank. That's how you figure head height...... but for each 90 degree pvc fitting, you should add 1' of head to the original figure
