I do not speak Italian. i live in America. LOL.

Sorry, I thought the grammer was do to you being Italian writing in English. I live in America too, doesn't stop me from speaking Italian. Again sorry, disregard my post.

OK, I'm just going to write my thoughts on this and you can do with them what you will.

First off, after reading many of your posts I can tell that you are passionate about cichlids and learning all you can about them. I think it is very commendable that you are trying to help people who are new to cichlids with this book for beginners. Especially coming from someone like you who knows how hard starting this hobby can be.

Now on with the critique:

Water Changes section: you are very vague about this (and most of the book for that matter). Examples are writing "You should lots of water changes if you have American cichlids." And "You should change 30-80 percent of an American cichlid tank." You never actually say to do them weekly and you should narrow your percentage so that beginners just have a number in their head. For example if I don't know what I am doing someone telling me to do weekly water changes of 50% is much more helpful.

To clear up this is not the entire book correct? Because the sections you have written are extremely short and has very limited information on the hobby as a whole and the 4 species you picked to write about.

I know you didn't want grammar help but the entire book is very poorly written, vague, and redundant. I don't see the value in this book as the information you have so far I could find, plus much more, in less then a few seconds on Google.

You have to remember who your audience is. This is for beginners to keeping cichlids and to aquariums as a whole. That is why you can't be vague because these people can't fill in the blanks. For example you write numerous times that they need good filtration, what is good filtration? You say that these fish are "bad", what do you mean by "bad"? Feed on a regular basis, how regular?

In the cichlids section you seem to say the same thing about every cichlid: They are all messy eaters, can eat most food, need regular water changes, and tons of personality and they will eat out of your hand.

Also even writers of books like this have to have cited material. They are not just sitting down and writing a book based of their own knowledge. You need to do tons and tons of research.

I don't want to come off as mean but someone needs to say it: You are one of the last persons on this forum that should be doing this. You are not a good writer and your knowledge on this subject as a whole is very lacking. I have been in the hobby for about 10 year and very active on forums like this for about 6 years. And by no means to I think that I could write a book on the subject. I know I am not qualified and I would think most would say the same about you. You are still learning a great deal as evident by your posts and that means that you are not the person to be handing out advice that is a published resource.

I know it sounds mean and you can think I am a jerk if you want but this is really not for you. Sorry. And I do truly hope that this doesn't change the way you are on this forum and your passion for cichlids and the hobby itself. As I said above I think it is great and everyone started off where you are. Maybe years later when you have more personal experience and knowledge on the subject you could take up this idea again. But I don't think that this is a good fit for you right now.

I do not want to disobey but I really want to wright this book. I am using other book as a reference. i am doing a little research in other books. i mean I am going to do tons of research. i will fix it. i did not reconnise that it was hard for beginners to understand. i do not think you are a jerk. But if I work hard at this I can probibly do it. i am starting to add more info. i will fix the info that is hard for beginners to understand. i will make it more fun.

Sorry to be the one to burst the politically correct bubble, but I think you should wait until you can keep fish alive, house them properly and understand more about EVERYTHING before you give ANYONE any advice. Your threads are a nightmare mish mash of total confusion, you dont listen to what anyone tells you and the advice youve given others is terribly wrong, at best.

Im still not convinced you arent a troll that comes on here to start arguments...I mean really, read your threads. Is anyone REALLY that...confused? blind to common sense? clueless?

You have a LONG way to go before anything you say can be taken with any bit of seriousness...and it sounds like your Dad hasnt read a single thing youve posted. Maybe you should have him read all your threads/posts and then ask him what he thinks. Just be prepared for a good smack or thousand upside the head after he reads them.

honestly after seeing posts of yours on here your one of the last people i want writing a book showing new hobbiests how to set up cichlid tanks. its a really cool idea but you need to do some serious research and get it right instead of just diving in with as little info as you have acquired so far. not something i would recommend for a new hobbiest to buy

+1, with the caveat that I am 99.9% certain this person is indeed a troll, perhaps one of the best to ever grace the MFK forums.

I is okay

I was skeptical and if English was his second language alot of this made more sense to me. To relpy with the above quote blew his cover. I gotta go with TROLL, no other explination at this point.
