How to bring out the best in our Peacock eel?

My mom decided to buy a peacock eel. I've seen videos of pretty tame fire eels and would love to know if it could become as tame as them. How can I bring out the best in our eel? Information you can give besides whats mentioned in the sticky? I'll be doing some research too

hand feed... hand feed..... hand feed.... and make sure he's got ample hideing spots. some eels are naturally more "tame" then others so he may come out very easy or take monthes to work with.

Be patient, it took over a year before I was seeing my peacock eel on a regular basis.

Mine just started coming out regularly in the past couple weeks after having it for 8+ months. Wouldn't see it for weeks at a time, just stayed buried when the lights were on. Give it time.

Hes out about half of the time actually. And I haven't seen him eat once and I watch my fish until the foods all gone. Hes the first fish I've ever had that resisted blood worms -.-
I'll try earthworms.
