they finally came!!! many pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
great job man, nice fish! those have to be some of the smallest CBGs i have ever seen! probably right around the size (if not a bit smaller) than the 2007 import. i would watch those tankmate gars as they won't hesitate to eat them given that size discrepancy...you don't want expensive feeders!

be sure to maintain stable pH, and i find the aragonite cichlid sand to be best for that. get them eating soon (usually rosies or the like are good to bulk up/start up) and growing and they will reach more stable size for you. best of luck!--

thanks, the smallest cuban is about 4.5" and the other a bit larger. the largest florida in the growout tank is about 8-9". i am watching them closely. i have some crushed coral behind the sward and sponge filter. my ph is at around 7.2ish. they came from a ph of 7.4. they are in a 40breeder now, but if the floridas give them any trouble they have a 20gal planted with tetras i will sacrifice for the cause if i don't get a few more 40 breeders before then.

the guy i got them from said they were eating shrimp and tilapia fillets so i will try that since they are not afraid of my hand like the floridas are. if they don't eat that i will have feeders in for them tonight. i will try to find some of that sand in a color i like since i don't have any in this tank or my 120gal witch is next in the line for them.

Beautiful Cuban! :)

thanks hao, i got 2 this time.

where did you get them?

i would love to give the guy some business, but i got a major hook up, due to us being business partners so i can't give him out yet without talking to him first. i hinted at the price in a different thread, not intentionally, so i don't want others to get angry with him due to me getting a hook up for previously stated reasons. besides he mainly deals with lfs' now anyways.

very nice cubans

thanks

i just added some sand that was mixed with some aggregate sand to help maintain the ph. i got some pics of them all mixed to get a close look at actual sizes and the differences between them. also the pattern they have since settling in is awesome. the first 2 pics are of the smallest cuban and the largest florida in that tank.
