This is a loaded question, but if these scheduled chat sessions occur a few times, and go well, is there any chance of a full-time chat room? The way AC does it, they almost ALWAYS have staff in there, and if you misbehave you get penalized not only in chat but on the forum as well.
i dont see unstructured chats working on mfk... i think its going to be 99% down to what the content subject of these chats are as to weather these sessions are a success in terms of people behaving....
the problem is as most of us except that we cross certain grey areas on this forum....
for exaple issues like the fish we choose to keep,
OS/JDM style tanks,
who owns what fish,
justifications for keeping certain fish.
are all very emotive topics for a start... there are hundreds we come across on a daily basis on mfk and has been that way for years.... there is always potential of large scale disasters!!!
sounds like a neat idea for people that want to "chat" about those topics, I'm just not one of them lol. I have my final stock and all my tanks have been running for some time...nothing really there to talk about.
Well disagreeing is fine, it just requires the self control to be able to agree to disagree and leave it alone. And if staff is always present, then it wouldnt be a problem, not to mentio flashchat has a feature that saves chat logs, so troublemakers can be easily reported.
