My new 6” Wild Caught Azuls!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
**Update**

My two 2 Rio Araguaia Piquiti are doing grate. Their pushing about 8" - 9" inches now and eat like animals. I have the divider in currently because my 10" Broko bullies them, so I'm power feeding the Azul in hopes to pull the divider soon.

They should outgrow your broko pretty fast.. Azul's have a faster growth rate compared to the other breeds..

True that... I'm seeing that already.. I pulled the divider in the tank this last weekend and introduced everyone.. Both the Azul have already caught up with the broko in size and have been holding their own so far in the group. In this tank my Kels are the biggest at 11.5" - 12" and are the dominant cichla, however the Broko seems to be more aggressive and pushes the Azul & Tem around :nutkick:.... but doesn't mess with the Mono or the Kels. I'll post some update pix to this thread in a week or two.

***lil Update***

I added a third Azul to the pack over the weekend, got it from Jeff Raps. I believed I had two females and talked Jeff into sending me a male, so he did. This Azul is much smaller at around 9" and different looking and lighter in color than my other two 11 inchers which I got from a different source so I'm kinda excited about it. He has really cool cheek markings, kind of looks like a Orinos spot..lol

Also, sorry about the photos, I took these during feeding time and there was sediment and broken pieces of pellets in the water.

Nice Azuls man, yours colored up nicely. Mine are just the normal silver/blueish. We have the exact same azul stock lol, 2 from Dan Ye and 1 from Rapps. Originally had 2 from Rapps, but 1 died

**lil update** - I transferred my Azul to another one of my tanks in fear they would be eaten by that 20" PU Mono!!..lol So they are doing really well as you can see and really looking amazing in the new tank.
